Ship AI (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides an AI-assisted shipping app that turns a photo of a package into a printable label. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how to exercise your privacy rights when you use our iOS app, our website at tryshipai.com, and any related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By using the Services, communicating with us, or otherwise interacting with us, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
What we collect
Information you provide
- Name and email when you create an account or sign in.
- Origin and destination addresses you enter to generate a shipping rate.
- Photos and barcode scans you submit so we can identify the item and estimate its weight and dimensions.
- Optional product details you create — name, weight, dimensions — stored as user-contributed entries in our product catalog.
- Payment details for label purchases (handled by Stripe) and subscription billing (handled by Apple). We never store full card numbers; we receive only a token from the processor.
Information collected automatically
- Device type and OS version, so we can keep the iOS app working across the supported range.
- Crash reports, basic analytics, and usage events that help us diagnose issues and improve the app.
- IP address (transient — used for rate-limiting and abuse prevention, not stored long-term).
From third parties
If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a verified email and a basic profile claim. We never receive your password.
How we use your information
- To recognize the item in your photo and estimate its size.
- To get rate quotes from carriers and to generate the actual shipping label you purchase.
- To process payments, refunds, and subscription billing.
- To save shipments, templates, recipients, and presets.
- To send service-related emails — receipts, tracking updates, and security notices. You can opt out of any non-essential email at any time.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
Who we share it with
Service providers
We share only what each provider needs to do its job:
- Shipping partners — origin and destination addresses, parcel weight, dimensions, and chosen rate. Used to quote and generate the actual label.
- AI providers — the item photo and a short description prompt. Used to identify the item and estimate weight and dimensions. We do not send your name, address, payment info, or shipment history.
- Product-data services — barcode value only, when one is scanned. Used to look up the product.
- Stripe — billing details for label purchases. Stripe is the processor of record; their privacy practices govern what they retain.
- Apple — for iOS Sign in with Apple and for subscription billing through the App Store.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — host the data described above on our behalf.
Legal compliance
We may disclose information to respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, prevent fraud or harm, or as required by law.
Business transfers
If Ship AI is involved in a merger, sale, or acquisition, your information may be transferred. We will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Your choices and rights
- Access & export. Email support@tryshipai.comand we'll send you a copy of the data tied to your account.
- Correction. Edit your profile, addresses, recipients, presets, and templates from inside the iOS app.
- Deletion. Delete individual shipments, templates, recipients, and presets in the app, or email us to delete the entire account.
- Marketing email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Service emails (receipts, tracking, security) continue regardless.
Data retention
We keep your account data while the account is active. Shipment records are retained for at least seven years to comply with carrier and tax recordkeeping rules. Aggregated, deidentified statistics may be kept indefinitely.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — TLS in transit, encryption at rest, scoped service credentials, row-level security in the database, and audited access patterns. No system is perfectly secure; we do our best.
Children's privacy
Ship AI is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
California, EEA, UK, and other state rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, to opt out of certain processing, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We honor all such rights. To exercise them, email support@tryshipai.com with the subject “Privacy Request”. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We'll update the date below and, for material changes, send a notice in-app or by email.
